Your tips stay on your device
Interview answers, reports, evidence timelines and notes are saved in your browser's local storage. We do not keep a database of your tips. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they are gone, so download the PDF for anything you want to keep.
Anonymous mode
With anonymous mode on, the interview never asks for your name or contact details and the report omits them. Please don't type identifying details you don't want in your tip. Anonymous mode cannot stop an agency or a company from inferring who you are from the facts themselves. An attorney can advise you on that risk.
What is processed on our servers
- AI processing: when AI is enabled, your interview text and any evidence you choose to analyze are sent through our server to Anthropic's API to generate questions, tips and extracted facts. We do not store them. Without an AI key, a built-in rule-based mode runs and nothing leaves our server.
- Company lookup: the company name you type is sent to the public USAspending.gov API.
- Evidence files: without AI, facts are extracted from text entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded. When AI is enabled, files you attach (text, images or PDFs) are sent through our server to the AI for extraction and are not stored.
Payments and access
Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. After you pay, we keep a signed, httpOnly cookie that proves your purchase (or an earlier membership) and holds your Stripe checkout or customer ID. Stripe holds your email and billing details.
Legal process
Because we don't store your tips, we have very little to disclose if legally compelled. We will not sell your data.
TipReady is not a law firm and is not affiliated with any government agency. Nothing here is legal advice.
